Anyone with experience with Gabapentin for anxiety? I was just put on a very low dose just to make sure i tolerate it. 100mg once a day. So far I a haven’t had any side effects. Maybe felt a tiny bit of anxiety relief for a few hours. But I think it’s typically taken 3 times a day and in higher dose. Dr will increase but slowly. Just wondering what your experiences have been with it.

I take 800mg 4 times a day for nerve damage and they save my life. Since I'm in recovery I'm limited to what medications I am able to take for pain. Recovering addicts have a hard time getting medically treated. I had started off at a lower dose and increased through the years. Hope it works for you.

I’ve been taking it for over a year now. You’re on a really low dose. I was on 200 mg at first and then it was up to 300 mg three times a day. I must warn you that you will develop a tolerance for it as you continue to use it. It worked great in the beginning, and I’m not so sure how it helps or if it helps me at all these days. To be honest with you I can’t really tell.

I took it for my social anxiety. I had to stop using it after I had a hypersensitivity reaction

100mg is very low for sure. I was put on 300mg at bedtime and was told to double the dosage if I’m not experiencing any adverse side effects. When I doubled it to 600, I started to run my wheelchair into doors, slurred and had blurry vision. To say the least, it didn’t work once it had time to build up on my system. I had to taper back to 300 and have been there for… 3-4 years now. Now, keep in mind, I only weigh 75lbs (35kg). I’m also 22. So basically, I can be tossed around like a football 🤣 I don’t expect those side effects for most proportionally regular people who have passed puberty (likely meaning just anyone heavier than me). If you have issues with feeling groggy or foggy in the mornings, consider talking to your doctor about maybe only taking in the evenings/nights. It might help you relax and get sleepy before bed. Hope that helps, best of luck. 💙

It never did anything for my pain or anxiety. Becareful as it is addictive for some.

Gabapentin is a life saver. I take it for my Myofascial Pain Syndrome and Anxiety. Just make sure to take it on time everyday

Yes I have. I take Gabapentin for nerve damage and pain issues. Also off label for anxiety. I take 300 mg four times a day. In actuality, usually end up with taking three per day. I was started on this dose. It is in theory supposed to help increase GABA in the the brain. Not sure if it really helps with the pain. As for anxiety, I hope this works for you. For me? It just doesn’t do that much.
