I’ve been struggling with SH for the past 7 years now but recently I’ve really struggled with it and the last time I cut was April 11th but I feel the need to do it again. How do I prevent this from happening?

my therapist from a couple years ago told me to transform it into self care. for example if its cutting, apply lotion to your skin instead. it really helped me as well as if you have objects you have an SH connection with- get rid of them. I personally held on to mine for a long time because of my deoendancy on them. It was like an addiction and i just had to hide em from myself/100% get rid of them. I hope this helps:( 💕
Redirect it in to something else. Go for a run, play some video games, make yourself an elaborate snack, do some chores, take a shower, anything. Whatever is safest and most distracting and plausible at the time of the impulse. I would highly recommend doing something related to self care as sometimes these feelings creep up the most when you haven't properly taken care of yourself and your more likely to have negative feelings about yourself or others when your hungry, tired, understimulated, unhygenic, or otherwise uncomfortable.
