So, I know someone with ADHD that makes music and I just want to know some inspirational stuff I can tell them. I know them personally and I can’t wait to see them on the top of the billboard one day but they used to struggle a lot in their past. Anyone know any good suggestions?

As someone who’s adhd and makes music, it doesn’t need to be overly complicated just a regular comment like I love your music so much I can’t wait for the world to hear it would mean a lot to any musician regardless of difficulties faced, but if you wanna address adhd specifically you could say something like you’ve got your whole life to learn and achieve as much as you want to there’s no end goal it’s just the experience so as long as you’re doing what you love you’re living your life to the fullest and I couldn’t be more proud and excited for you

Encourage them to be happy and accept making art for making art. Make sure they don't entangle success with passion. As someone who literally had my work plastered everywhere and worked with high end artists, its not about talent. It's too much about luck, kissing a.s.s. and social contacts. If they love what they make and remain passionate, that is way better than a blood sucking contract. It's expression. It's our therapy. That is waaay more inportanr

Ugh I really want to make music too but all I keep thinking is that "no-one will listen" and "why would anyone listen to something I made" and "I'm never going to be good enough". Like I don't want to be famous I just want to make stuff that I'm proud of, and even with that goal, I still don't believe in myself. I would just continually remind them that even if they don't think they are worthy or good enough, that you think they are and if you do, then it is very likely that others will too! Idk if this helps haha sorry for the vent.

One suggestion is to remind them of their passion for music and how far they've come despite their struggles with ADHD. Encourage them to continue pursuing their dreams, as their unique perspective and experiences can contribute to their creativity and success in the music industry. Let them know that you believe in their talent and potential, and that overcoming challenges can make their achievements even more meaningful and inspiring to others.
