how to get over my oral fixation ???? like if i dont vape or smoke then like eating when im not hungry or drinking a lot of tea or chewing gum. like. how do i remedy this it's kind of a huge cost waste to me but i just. idk its not even sexual i just need something inside my mouth at all times and that might be trauma related ????? hate it so much

      I have a bunch of food grade silicone chew sticks. They last pretty long too unless you're like me and actually bite through it. Even biting a hole in it usually takes a while for me...I have an oral fixation and a chewing/biting tourettes tic, and they're honestly the best I found. Most of them come with a string to wear as a necklace

      commenting so i can see other responses! i go through like 5 packs of gun a week cus thats the only thing that will settle me when i have to sit still in class/at work. its so soothing but such a habit i want to stop.

      I read somewhere when we don’t say what we feel, it causes us to stuff it down. I would maybe try talking out how you feel in these moments or think about a situation where you may need to speak your truth.

      I really struggle with oral hyper fixation too. But to the point where I get uncontrollably uncomfortable and anxious. And I clench my jaw constantly. I’m still trying to find answers myself. 😖
