I’m interested in connecting with autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) and or AIH/PBC crossover sufferers. I went into remission after diagnosis following a severely acute case, at 30, and lesser case at 32. No drugs but elimination of all gluten since. In past year, had moderate re-sparking of disease (inflammation 2/4 per biopsy, no damage) and recently started Budesonide (NOT my ideal). Possible triggers aren’t of concern to my liver doctor, and yet they say remission without ongoing drug treatment is impossible. And yet I did it once. So how to explain that? They want to put me on immunosuppressants for minimum of 2 years. I want to get at root cause and explore alternative approaches. (For reference: I have other autoimmune disease, Hashimoto’s thyroid disease) Possible triggers to cause my current liver issues may be: recent parasite (international travel) or Covid vaccine doses/boaster. Med journal research has accounted for several AIH liver cases post vaccine. I’ve had normal liver enzymes for 16 years! Who’s on treatment? Who’s on budesonide? Who is also dealing with autoimmune cluster and doctors who aren’t getting at root cause but only medicating? And who can give me some frank talk on immunosuppressants? I’m looking forward to your feedback!
