I take a step back, and vocalize that I’m upset and tell them that I need space. Then I’ll take time alone. It’s hard and difficult to be able to identify when you need that alone time but it’s really important even if it’s just a minute or two. Take a breath, and spend some time alone, before you say something / so something you’ll undoubtedly regret
Try to look up a dbt skills book! Learning those skills helped me deal with super intense feelings in the moment and it’s a bit more practical than therapy alone (still. Absolutely pursue therapy they go hand in hand)
