Starting a new job today and trying to work through my anxiety.
My pattern includes self sabotage that looks like panic attacks, breaking down and not leaving the house when it comes time to finally go to work.
I don’t seem to have an issue applying for jobs, going to interviews, taking a class. But when it comes time for the responsibility to kick in, suddenly I’m overwhelmed.
Trying to use my coping skills today and have faith that my medication is going to continue to work for me.
The job is for tax preparation. I spent all last week studying and passed the exam. It’s a foot in the door while I work towards my accounting degree.
Could use some encouragement and possibly advice today.

I too suffer from GAD! Just remember to slow down and breathe! Think of something pleasant you love doing. You got this, remember that! My anxiety is bad today also thinking about what other students I will be teamed up with today for a presentation by the end of term! I am older so I feel like the old ball in class! But I slow down my breathing taking it one step at a time because I know I got this, and so do you! Think positively!

Wow you passed the exam and now you’re ready that’s big. You’re going to do great! It’s seems like a lot but all new jobs have it set up so you’re not overwhelmed too much right off the bat. Just take it day by day and it’ll be easy going in no time :)

thank you! You’re so right.. I’m new so I’m sure they don’t expect too much of me yet. I’ll be starting off by job shadowing also so less pressure I guess.
