Struggling with Swallowing: Seeking Advice

Omeprazole and domperidone really work for me maybe ask your Dr to see what they think about maybe trying them

Yes! I was put on 4 meds (of which didn't help) amd I got blood allergy testing done and I'm allergic to wheat, yeast and eggs! I eliminated those foods for several months and my belly feels a lot better and I've lost 15lbs. ❤️

I started Dupixent 3 weeks ago and after the first week or so I noticed I hadn’t chocked all week!!! On food, on water. I could swallow significantly better. Downside for me, joint pain and hives at injection site. I’d say give it a try if you’re struggling with swallowing 💕

I typically get food stuck and then I can't swallow at all. I've taken Budesonide. It worked great for me, along with a diet change.

We are all different but I refuse to take a PPI such as Omeprazole or Pantoprazole. It reduces stomach acid and therefore tore up my stomach. That's usually what the doctors try first. You can try elimination diet also but that hasn't helped me either. FDA just approved Dupixent yesterday. I have heard good reviews. Also Budesonide, a swallowed steroid, or Flovent. Other than these, there's not much for treatment.

Have you tried talking to your GI about omeprazole? That’s the medicine that’s really been helping me. Or I tried doing that elimination diet and it’s helped a lot as well
