I went in to get a lab test for uti and they said I had to be seen, which I normally don’t bc my doctor knows I get them all the time and can just get the test and he’ll prescribe the antibiotics. So I saw the urologist who was working that day and he said he doubted I’ve ever had a uti bc I didn’t have one that day and apparently walk in clinics, family doctors, and his colleague, my doctor, tend to just go off of symptoms and don’t actually do the test. But now I’m all in my head about it. I’ve had 4 confirmed this in the last 6 months in my lab records, but I’ve gone 3 times since and only one was a uti and I have no way of knowing if it was positive or not! I guess it’s just really giving me anxiety. How do you deal with doctors like this getting in your head? I’m not trying to say he was out of line, maybe he’s right, but now I’m questioning if I really have interstitial cystitis or if I have something else going on and that scares me. I hate health stuff and just wish we could get a diagnosis and treatment plan that meant I knew what to expect.
