DBT and ACT and mindfulness.... It's not easy, you need to retrain your brain and make new pathways, and that takes time... I still struggle with acceptance, I'm just so sick of the battle your constantly fighting in your head. Analysing every thought and emotion is exhausting!!! My mantra is "catch it, check it, change it" - catch the thought, sit with it, recognise why you feel or think this way and change your perception . Also remember to be grateful, life sux and yeah it's hard but your doin your best and that's enough xx good luck xx

Currently my go to is a DBT skill is distraction. “Wise mind ACCEPTS” and “distracting with the 5 senses” ACCEPTS is an acronym: activities, contributing, comparing, emotions, pushing away, thoughts, and sensations. I’m using “contribution” and “comparison” as I type this, and it is helping a bit.

i believe it’s important to feel your feelings when youre in this state and journal if you can to later reflect. i go to talk therapy consistently and always contact i trusted person (mostly my husband) to lean on or vent to. i def get ridiculous but he is good with reorientating me

I can attest to DBT, I’ve been in therapy since this fall and I’ve made heaps of progress. I haven’t had a full meltdown in 3 months. If you can’t afford it I have some great book recommendations!!

DBT is probably the most effective way to cope with BPD, I’ve heard a lots of good things
