The guy i’ve been talking to and I have been on a few dates and spend a lot of time texting and on the phone. When he brings up sex, I just shut down because i’m terrified to tell him I have herpes (genital). A few times now, we will be getting ~romantic~ (lol) and then we kiss and nothing else. and then it’s just over because I don’t want to have sex without disclosing my diagnosis with him. I have never had an outbreak and I take acyclovir daily just as a preventative treatment. I have no idea how to bring it up and he just seems to think i’m not sexually attracted to him. please let me know if you have any advice :)

It’s illegal to have sex without telling someone so yes you should tell him. But honestly this virus works as a filter - if he cares for you he won’t care about the virus! Make sure you’re educated on how to prevent the spread & then you don’t need so worry! ❤️ I’ve never given it to a partner in the two years of having it & I have relatively frequent outbreaks. Just be upfront & tell him, but make sure you give him time to think & do his own research. Consenting to sex is important
