The Worst Feeling in a Depressive Episode

Like a heavy weight and emptiness and the same time somehow and the emotional pain goes through your body

I have a feeling in my chest when I’m having a depressive episode too. But I also have anxiety so it’s mostly chest tightness. The only thing that helps is taking a Xanax, but I don’t feel like that’s an adaptation measure to take honestly. I hate it and I feel for you. Somatic symptoms are so hard and make me spiral more :(

That feeling like there's shattered glass in your lungs when you breathe in and like you got kicked by a mule square in the chest when you breathe out that feels kind of like you're high but on the worst trip of your life and all you can see is red, gray and black?

What feeling exactly? Like that feeling of complete and total emptiness? Or for me sometimes it’s this feeling of my heart being in so much pain it feels like it’s going to explode.
