So I finally got my GES test results back and it came to 61% of food was digested. My nurse practitioner (bc I haven’t seen my actual doctor in over a year😒) sent out a referral for a gastric pacemaker because I’m so young and have lost quite a bit of weight in a few months. Does anyone have any experiences with the pacemaker or suggestions? I want it so I can get better but I’m lowkey nervous

It's crazy to me that they want to do something so drastic so quickly. I only digested 32% of my food after 4 hrs during my gastric emptying test, and this option hasn't been brought up for me. I have just been placed on a liquid diet and rabeprazole. I'd recommend looking at all of your options before a surgical procedure. 💛

I have this condition as well and just wondering if you have tried the otc medicine for this called "fdgard" it was recommended by my gastrologist.
@M3g982 no my doctor hasn’t helped me with anything or had me tried anything
i have a gastric pacemaker and have had since the beginning of march. it hasn’t worked for me personally to be honest, and i am still completely dependent on my feeding tube. i don’t want to discourage you from trying different treatments because that is only my experience and you know yourself the best. i was torn between the gastric pacemaker and the pyloroplasty procedure but ended up going with the pacemaker. if you haven’t looked into the pyloroplasty i would do that because it is far less invasive. honestly i would just try to get as much information about both procedures (and any others im not aware of that might help) because it’s worth trying. i hope you get the support you need very soon. sending my love:)
@katealexander thank you so much I will look into that other one as well!
