how do you deal with the daily struggles? i feel like people often give long term solutions to long term issues, but I find it difficult to find anything about tough day to day things (carding conversations, balancing emotions, end all/be all way of thinking).

After a year of unemployment and sitting under trees smoking weed in the park, I've accessed the ability to simply stop caring. Something makes me mad? Five minutes later I don't care about it anymore. It's there, I may not like it, but it's there and it's not going anywhere, so caring about it only stresses me more, and usually it's not worth the stress, so I recognize it, accept its existence, and don't care. Very few things matter in the long term.

The best way I’ve learned to handle emotional distress is to not take your emotions too seriously. They may be unpleasant but generally won’t kill you. I say to myself a lot “this is very temporary, this is very temporary” to get through tough moments. In terms of balancing, it helps me to find a grounding practice. Whether that’s cleaning, going on walks, playing with my cat. Sex also helps. Really just anything that gets you grounded in the physical world. Also meditation or low-impact mind-body workouts like yoga or Pilates can do the trick. A method for handling tough (potentially triggering) conversations in the moment is to use the STOP method. When you find yourself distressed in a difficult conversation you can STOP, Take a step back, Observe how you’re feeling and how the other person seems to be feeling. Then Plan your behaviors so that you can achieve an ideal end goal of the convo so as not to further harm yourself or the other person. I don’t know if this would help you, but it is certainly helping me. Trying to put it into practice one step at a time. Feel free to dm to talk more in depth. Sending love & blessings ❤️
