I want to exercise. But, I struggle with getting tired easily. How do I build up to being able to exercise for any length of time?

Thank you all for the input! Last year, I changed my diet after being diagnosed as diabetic. I lost 50 pounds in 2021, and I’m at a standstill. I’m trying to incorporate some exercise to fit my new healthy lifestyle! I know weight is just a number, but with each pound I lose, I physically feel better!

If you are really out of shape, I would recommend looking into Joyn. It’s a free website with exercise videos designed for disabled/fat people. They have low and high impact exercises, as well as flexibility training. It could be a good way to build stamina!

It totally depends on the exercise you're doing! Don't rush it over complicated exercises to burn out yourself if you aren't coming from a sports background. Are you going to the gym? If yes I recommend you doing the scalators (or stairmaster) and/or walking with short intervals of running if is the scaletor is too much to build up stamina.

Hi IzzyRae, I struggle with the same thing. It makes it so much harder to find the motivation to exercise when suffering from depression. At least that’s what I find. What type of exercise are you looking at doing? And what can you do right now? For example, I enjoy walking. I can do a brisk walk for 45 minutes before getting too tired.
