you know what i hate ive only recently found out what masking is and ive been doing it my whole life ,trying to fit in and act different around different people ,i want to stop masking any tips ?

Personally, what has helped me unmask the most is being around other neurodivergent people and/or those I feel the most comfortable with. (If that means being alone, that’s totally valid!) Follow the dopamine! Do what feels good and right. Do some research into different kinds of stimming and try some out! Spin around, hug a plushie, listen to music and dance! Stim toys and fidgets can help this process as well. Allowing yourself to delve into your current hyperfixations can also help! If your brain wants to do something, do it! (as long as it’s safe and not harmful) Good luck!! 💕
