Anyone else get the fibro insomnia? Like I’m in too much pain to sleep.

I take gabapentin, tizanadine and celexa at night and still can't sleep. I can get sleepy but as soon as I try to sleep I'm wide awake and hurting.

All the insomnia meds I was prescribed made me feel like 😵‍💫🧟‍♀️ & the fog from not sleeping can be terrible, I hope this can kind of help

Yep! My doctor put me on amitriptyline for it. It’s been working well so far.

I used to severely struggle with my insomnia. I read a few studies last year that showed that the fibro brain causes deep sleep deprivation since it never relaxes or "turns off" enough for the body to achieve actual deep sleep. After that, I did some research and found that gabapentin is great for nerve pain as well as promoting deep sleep (I think it's technically a sedative). I started taking 300mg am, midday and pm - I now take 600mg am and midday with 900mg at night. (As well as 20mg cyclobenzaprine). I went from a career insomniac to sleeping like a baby!

Yep! I never called it fibro insomnia but I love that! Funny thing is, sleep generally helps my pain! But then I can’t fall asleep so it’s worse and then I need to sleep even more….it’s a vicious cycle!
