Hi! A few months ago my OBGYN said that I probably have endometriosis. She put me on birth control and it hasn’t been helping. Now she thinks it could be pelvic floor dysfunction. Has anyone had experience with that?

Yes I have that as well and I go to pelvic floor therapy weekly and it seems to really help, they can teach you how to relax your pelvic floor.

Ask her to do a pelvic ultrasound. That was how I finally got to the steps towards surgery I’m at today. I suffer from both sadly, I was told to see a pelvic floor physical therapist but haven’t been able to yet. I would ask About that your next appointment

Birth control never really helped me. I have done surgery, PT, Meds, shots that stopped my period for months at a time, I was in BC and only had a period 4x a year and my symptoms were the worst during this time. For me I was hormonally imbalanced and conventional medicine does not recognize this. I went to see a Functional Medicine Practitioner that specializes in women’s health and she finally put all the pieces together that were life long and gave me diagnoses. From there I have been able to heal and now I have a manageable period and I don’t need pain meds, my Tens unit or BC. I was diagnosed with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, Histamine Intolerance, Mold Toxicity and Estrogen Dominance. I also have a DAO deficiency which is the enzyme that breaks down histamine in the gut. Excess estrogen produces excess histamine and this vicious cycle continues to the point where I was so imbalanced I had infertility, and histamine issues that caused a whole host of health issues.
Definitely explore all options. You could already have endometrial tissue in your pelvic area, but there is physical therapy available that is said to help. Go at your pace though, and listen to your body. And above all else, tell someone when something hurts!
