Does anyone have share my symptoms and experience with social anxiety?

symptoms: squeezing arms and legs together when around people, excessive sweating only when anxious about sweating, flailing arms around, touching neck, hair and face often, tearing up, throat closing up, self conscious about style of walking and clothes, hyperaware of people looking at you and relating it back to you, coming off cold/not warm/uninterested/not genuine, odd body language, can't even say hi or wave at people, can't stand close to people (especially groups or taller people), uncontrollable shaking
my experience: feeling like you can't control your body movements, can't think of anything to talk about with even friends and parents/feeling social inept, feeling like you come off negatively to people and that they don't like you or assume things about you, not able to carry out everyday interactions (talk to cashier, ask for help, jobs where you have to talk to customers unscripted or most jobs), being pretty much mute and non reactive around people

I also deal with this on the daily.... Sadly mine has yet to get better. I have tried to slowly work on it, it helps when I have atleast one other person with me.

I also do better with a friend. I'm not comfortable with my presence alone. When I'm with a friend I feel I have more leg room and can be and show myself. Fun fact but actually really sad fact, I've made zero friends since starting college and I've been here two years. If I could find a friend group, I would act a lot better. But I also hate to rely on friends for comfort and confidence. I would love to join this "self love" movement if I could.

felt TwT i feel so socially inept sometimes i just wanna give up on myself. from reading this we honestly seem really similar in how we experience social anxiety, cool to know we’re not alone. I also don’t have a friend group (currently in highschool) and that definitely makes things worse. I understand your point of not wanting to be reliant on other people but social support is also really really important. Having a friend group and getting the support you need doesn’t mean that you cannot practice self compassion. It’s sm harder than people make it seem though TwT

I've been like that ever since my family split up and I had to change schools. Cannot find a friend other than the ones I made before the split. I want to love myself, but it's so hard when subconsciously your surroundings and your brain are telling you not to. I want to hide it and pretend to be okay like everyone else, never bring it up or act it out, but it's like everyone can see it.

I touch my hair way too much. I’ve always had a thing where I pick at my scalp and I’ve got scabs :(( I do think about the way people look at me.. but sometimes I’m aware when people don’t look at me. I wonder if I’m not deserving of a second glance. I do have trouble coming up with things to say around people, but it’s gotten better the more I’ve sort of slid my way into conversation. I find if your being nice, who gives a flying fudge what people think about you. I like being around nice people don’t you?

I like being around nice people, but I don't feel nice is a consistent personality trait. People are nice to some people and not so nice to others. I want to find someone I'm comfortable to talk to and be around, but it's a bit tough. Maybe it's projection, but I always feel critiqued and judged like people are keeping score. I'm getting counseling to get out of my head because honestly, I hate that I even care about things like that.

I think it’s valid to only want to be around people your comfortable with. If they don’t make you feel at ease then their not worth it and the and probs won’t be a good friend. They should always be putting in the same effort as you, I we all know important to notice that in the people when we talk to them
