how do you guys cope with lack of motivation for school; or school burn out? because i was doing really well for the first 3 months of school good grades feeling well about schools happy about making friends, and now i’m feeling more anxious and uncomfortable at school and my grades have dropped due to my lack of motivation and overall i just feel like a lazy student… does anyone have any advice on this subject.

For me I’ve had to retake a good amount of classes. It was making me realize that I need help but it was difficult for me to admit that at first. That’s the first hurdle I really had to work through. Once I actually went to my teachers about it I was able to find a way to work more one-on-one with them. I also have trouble with actually doing homework at home, that gave me some motivation to focus more on my work in class so I could do my homework after.

i’m missing a lot of school lately, only going 1-3 days a week. i try to do missing assignments but it’s just too much a lot of the times. i have 5 fs and a c. i have to retake some classes next year, and i have to do summer school. the only thing that helps me with motivation to do school work is to tell myself that if i turn in missing assignments then my grades will get better, and if i have an assignment due i do that first and then whatever i’m missing, since you don’t get full credit if you turn it in late

Just know there isn't a time limit to graduating, as much as people like to act like there is. Don't be afraid to need to retake classes. I ended up dropping out, doing some more intensive therapy, then going back. Finding different school programs can be good to. There are charters that are mostly targeted towards teen parents, like one I went too, but it was very helpful as they broke the classes down to just what was absolutely necessary and only had 6-10 students per teacher. Another one I tried later, and the one I finally graduated from was almost entirely online and pre recorded so I didn't need to be in classes at certain times and could just do it when I had the energy too, which doesn't work for everyone but it's what worked for me.

I legit dropped out, got my ged three months later. But what kept me going when i was in school was just reminding myself i dont wanna repeat another year due to my depression and ptsd
