A little vent - I am just so fed up with having PCOS, being told I cannot have children unassisted BUT I still have to have a period every month because it’s healthy? I feel like I’m being kicked in the uterus. Not healthy.

My gyno is insisting I have to have a period to remain healthy, and I don’t have a regular period without it. I simply don’t have one at all

Depending on whether or not you actually have polycystic ovaries (they aren't required for a pcos diagnosis despite the name) you could possibly (not a Dr so ask yours) benefit from ovarian drilling. That is the technical name for it. I had the surgery done in 2012 and it was helpful for periods but I'm not trying to get pregnant but the surgery is supposed to increase your fertilability (your ability to have the ability to have better fertility). Google can give you a better idea than me. But it can be helpful was my point. Good luck!

I have PCOS and was treated the same. I'm currently 6 months pregnant...

You do not have to have a period. My doctors stopped mine with low dose birth control. I stopped when I wanted to get pregnant and then went back on. It is not healthy to be in pain.

Are you having regularly periods? I’ve been told the non regular periods is part of the barrier to being able to get pregnant but if you are having them maybe you won’t have as much trouble.
