I can’t afford an Apple Watch to keep up with my heart rate any other suggestions for watch brands that can do this ??

I use a Skagen smart watch. They run about $300, however, I used the honey app and it found codes that dropped it to about $100. So, make sure you keep an eye our for sales, discounts, etc. I also have a cheaper fitbit that works well. I mostly prefer the Skagen because it looks more like a traditional watch.
You can most likely get a free garmin if you are in America they have simple hr/pedometer options.

I had a Fitbit before my Apple Watch and it worked well! Could probably find a good deal on them, even an older one I got in 2017 worked well
I have a fitbit. It was spendy, but they have cheaper options. Also on amazon you can choose to pay in monthly installments, which is what I did.
