I’m so tired of getting blood work done and them also doing tons of ct scans etc and finding nothing but I’m having pain in my intestines and waking up with panic attacks but the doctors claim it’s just anxiety this cannot be life I’m contemplating is life worth it right now 🥹

i’m going to use a personal anecdote for this: i have a lot of stomach issues and nausea/vomiting without any proof of problems via scans or colonoscopy/endoscopy- currently they want to check me for delayed gastric emptying - which can cause pain in the stomach but not show up on scans like that. now, i’m not saying you have delayed gastric emptying, im just giving an example of when other scans show nothing, it could be information to your doctors about your health that can be bringing you closer to your answer. the difference between us is i’m lucky enough to have a GI doc that really really cares to find an answer for me and believes my pain, instead of defaulting to anxiety. i think it is important that you advocate for yourself the best you can. a way you can do this is keep a journal of your stomach symptoms while also tracking your anxiety symptoms. if the pain is still there with low anxiety days, that can be helpful proof for you to receive more specialized testing. however, it’s also important to note that with most disorders, uncontrolled anxiety can really affect your health, especially in the stomach. you may be dealing with some nasty flares because of your anxiety, and finding coping mechanisms and anxiety treatment that works could be your best friend in lowering your pain level, even if it isn’t a cure. sorry for such a long comment, but what i am saying is really really important! TLDR: find ways to advocate for yourself, but also understand that anxiety could lead to nasty flares up too, even if the symptoms aren’t from anxiety.

I'm so sorry you're having such a bad time right now, it's so hard when you feel unwell physically and don't feel right but you get medically gaslit into thinking it's your mental health ❤️ I'm not saying Anxiety doesn't cause physical symptoms because it can but it sounds like you know your body & that something is off. I wonder if your doctors are able to put you for some more investigations like a endoscopy/colonoscopy or something to check closer to where you're experiencing issues? Bloodwork & scans don't always rule everything out & I've had experience with my Endo where no one believed me for years until I had a diagnostic laparoscopy which found it. I'd say trust your instincts as as hard as it can be to advocate for yourself if you really feel something isn't right then ask maybe to see another doctor or a specialist who deals with intestinal issues. Really hope it eases for you & you get some answers or support ❤️

@AnxiousAl ultrasounds don't always pick up things and the same with mri, for example Endometriosis often will not show on any scans at all & never did for me despite the double figure ultrasounds I had, no-one took me seriously until I was referred to a specialist who did a diagnostic surgery & found Endometriosis everywhere. (Not saying that is it for you) Just wanted to reassure you if you were worried that scans are 100% reliable and eliminate you having a physical problem. Have you thought about IBS or IBD? IBS can cause debilitating intestinal cramping? Hope you get some answers!
