Anyone with fibromyalgia try low dose naltrexone? Any issues with side effects?

It didn’t help me at all, actually made me very irritable.

I tried it but it made me feel very anxious and then I started to feel very empty and depressed. Let your Dr. Know about your concerns. We are all very different 🙂

I did not have to ramp up. My doc put me straight on it. Totally life changing. I’m actually starting to wean myself off of the antidepressants because I hate the weight gain from them

50 mg is the lowest dose most pharmacy’s carry. I take that dose because then I don’t need to special order it from a compounding pharmacy. It’s on label use the dose is much higher than 50 mg so it’s not hurting us to take more than the 10 mg typically needed for fibro management. I have had zero side effects and lots of benefits. LDN and lyrica have been the magic duo for me. With both meds I’m mostly functional pain wise. Still struggling with fatigue and brain fog though.

Tazzymax, did you have to ramp up to 50?

Zen toast, interesting! I wonder if it was messing with your thyroid. I have really bad stomach issues and had to stop for a while, I’m trying to start back up again, hoping the stomach issues weren’t related to ldn.

I’ve tried it and it did help with the pain but I had side effects and needed to stop. It made me incredibly agitated and angry which is very unlike me. I have friends who have done really well on it so worth a try!

I don’t use low dose. I just take 50 mg works wonders.
