I’m so f******g angry. Currently in an autistic meltdown...

I’ll be spending my birthday alone with my mum and dad. That’s something a 6yr old does. All my friends are busy or working. My best friend is going to a game that’s important (not playing in it) and I’m mad at her but I don’t want to tell her bc I’ll make her a mess. She loves and cares for me and I don’t want to guilt trip her but I can’t help feeling completely betrayed. I had no one else backed up to spend my birthday with bc they’re all busy and it’s in 2 weeks. It’s looking quite bleak aside from the presents Ik I’m getting. I’m just sat here sobbing I wanted an amazing birthday with my friends but fate had different plans I guess…

Adult Autism: The Struggle with Sensory Overload and Social Stigma

Any other autistic people hate gifts? Idk what it is, but I hate being surprised with gifts. You have to act grateful for getting things you don’t want that will clutter everything up. And it’s usually either wrong brand of things you want or just straight up not. A really thoughtful small gift from one person at a time can be good, but birthdays/holidays feel like so much. I don’t want to sound ungrateful, but I’d way rather watch a movie or eat take out then get a thousand random trinkets that don’t mean anything. Does anyone else feel this way?
