I have been on an anti inflammatory diet since mid November. It’s helped with chronic joint pain, made worse with Long COVID. But your own body’s sensitivities are more important. Take one of those advertised tests to rule out your own problem foods first

I cut out sugar completely (replaced with monkfruit, allulose, truvia splenda or purecane sweeteners) and drastically reduced my bread & pasta intake, they are only special occasion foods now. These drastically reduced my pain and flares.

Plant based diet (I only eat a small portion of fish occasionally, but no meat other than that.), gluten-free, and greatly reduced sugar intake (reduces inflammation). If I weren’t addicted to sugar, I think things would be better for me… I just can’t seem to get completely off of it.

I do a ketogenic diet and feel amazingly better. I have fibro, arthritis and ibs and all are way better as long as I stick to it. Significant difference when I have a "cheat" day (which is nearly impossible to make people understand).

I do water fasting. I have build up to 24 hours every other day. In the past year have lost 122 pounds and put my type 2 diabetes in to full remission A1C of 6.7. I have reduced my pain by 85% and use yoga to relax my spasms, muscle cramps and meditation to creat emotional distance from the pain. A great herbal antiinflammatory is stinging nettle and green or wild oats. It also helps friends with ED. I am an ex military med tech and trained as a shaman. So pretty good with herbs.

I am totally new to Alike as of right now. You all may not have heard of this. But this is what bothers my fibromyalgia pain the worse. Along with the normal symptoms of fibromyalgia, I also have been experiencing extreme sensitivities to all sounds including electrical items with a motor inside and outside the house even hair dryers, even running water, all wifi and electronics. All this and more escalates my pain. It seems connected to my IBS and acid reflux causing spasms in my belly and perineal area and NY lower back and feet and legs along with the burning, stinging, numbness and tingling pain that never stops and has progressed to the point that I can hardly stand it.

Also I guess I should say that in 2016 I had a bowel resection surgery and as soon as I got home a week later from it, my symptoms were getting worse. And they have continued little by little. My symptoms actually started after I had my hysterectomy in 1991. They have been worsening little by little and very small amount ever since then and now though it is escalating faster

Has anybody on here experienced fibromyalgia pain worsening with electrical motors like lawn mowers running and many other types of motors outside and inside the house like vacuums, W/D, hair dryers and even running water causing pain? Yesterday and most of today so far everybody is cutting their grass and it is making my pain worse and it will stay worse. No doctor so far has been able to help me. I have only been out of the house 3 times since November 23 of last year because the car motor running hurts me and all the electricity in stores and motors of heating and AC , cash register motors, etc. causes more pain. I cannot even take a bath or wash my hair without it causing more pain. Anybody please help!!!!!!

it sounds like you’re having sensory overload from the noises, which is overwhelming your brain and making it easier to focus on pain. My suggestion would be to bring your symptoms to your doctor to recommend a specialist. And for now, you could try wearing earplugs to dampen the noise. I found that wearing the foam earplugs you can find at most stores daily decreased my anxiety, irritability, and hypervigilance of my environment (at least as far as noises). It’s made a huge difference for me, and I recommend it to everyone I know with sensory sensitivities. Your needs are valid and there are things you can do to help soften the environment around you. Best of luck, and I hope that you find something that works!
