A pain specialist recommended (among other things) getting bariatric surgery. This definitely threw me for a loop because while I have well-controlled diabetes (type 2) and I’m not skinny, I didn’t think that would seem medically necessary. I’ve been in a fairly decent place with myself as far as body image goes, but the suggestion does pull trigger some past eating disorder thoughts. I have no idea whether to genuinely consider this recommendation or not. Any thoughts/similar experiences?

Honestly having many chronic ailments causes you to lose weight. It messes with your appetite. But I always eat really healthy. I'm happy with where I am now. Don't let them get to you love. Self love is important. If you want to lose weight do it for you. I'm sorry this happend to you.

They asked me early on when I was diagnosed with my fibromyalgia amongst other things. They asked me have I tried losing weight to help with the pain I yell and replied I have lost weight a lot of it. I am still in pain. They shut up after that never brought it up again.
