So I have scalp psoriasis, and it’s just really annoying me lately. My hair used to be nice and thick. Now ever since I got it my hair is thin and always looks oily. It doesn’t bother me too much in itching, but it flakes everywhere and I feel just so gross. I don’t want my fiancé to rub my head and I can’t wear my hair a certain way. Also fun fact if you dye your hair with scalp psoriasis(I didn’t know) it turns the scalp flakes the dye color. So now I have BLUE scalp flakies. 🥲

I'm the exact same, I've had this since high school so I know how you feel. I wash my hair virtually every day to get the flakes out using either Hemp shampoo or an anti-dandruff shampoo. And then I make sure to blow dry with the cold setting so it doesn't damage your hair with the heat and it doesn't irritate your scalp as much. I still have the odd flake that you can see every now and then, but it's otherwise worked for me. Hopefully this helps🤗

Have you tried using scalp scrubs? I had issues getting hold of my perscription so I tried it and it worked wonders

@Blue__Panda__ I didn’t know that was a thing, I’ll see if I can find some.

One user mentioned that using coconut oil treatments helped with their scalp psoriasis. They suggested gently massaging liquid coconut oil into the scalp and working it through to the ends, then letting it sit covered for an hour or two. This can be done twice a week. Another user recommended trying medicated shampoos like anti-fungal shampoo (ciclopirox), salicylic acid 6% shampoo, or over-the-counter coal tar shampoo. However, it's important to consult a dermatologist for personalized advice and treatment options.
