This is where I am right now. I was diagnosed with bipolar 3 years ago but it never felt right to me it never explained my symptoms. I'm changing psychologist for a few reasons and on my appointment set up I already expressed my want to get test for ADHD and Autism( it runs in my family and I've just never been tested even tho there have been signs) I'm hoping that I can get some answers

When I took focalin It was great for a week and than it made me start getting so angry and confused and mean. I didn't feel like myself. We switched to concerta and that's working for me still. Since I was diagnosed ADHD first I went through a bunch of stimulants and antidepressants until they found the right stimulant and realized I'm bipolar too. They than put me on Trileptal.

Ok I’ll just work with my psychiatrist and see what we can do I have tried adderall from a friend and it actually made me calm is that a sign of adhd?

I have both. It was hard to tell but it was assumed through my childhood(by my mother, passed off by doc) we knew i had bipolar when I tried an antidepressant and it made me rapid cycle. We also could tell the ADHD because stimulants help. It's a thin line and there's a lot of crossing symptoms. maybe try looking into ADHD commorbid bipolar. And rapid Cycling bipolar. Those are both things that helped me figure it out.

I was diagnosed with both and they started to treat the bipolar first by putting me on a starting dose so it would ease my episodes a bit and now they are focusing on the adhd aspect so that im able to manage during school. once we get a hang on this medicine we are going back to treat the bipolar episodes. Our logic was that even if we did get the right dosage originally to treat the bipolar we would most definitely have to adjust the dosage after adding the stimulant.

Yeah my psychiatrist wants to treat the bipolar first before thinking about adhd
