hey ! my name is g. i was diagnosed with 2 atrial septal defects, and a ventricular septal defect at birth. i had surgery to repair both ASD’s as an infant, leaving the VSD ( bc with hopefully it’ll eventually close on its own). i have LAFB, RBBB, arrhythmias, and an ekg that is consistent with pulmonary disease, or someone having a heart attack. later on, i was diagnosed with an ARSA ( aberrant right subclavian artery), and a leak in my ASD patch, and a chronic cough. i’ve lived my entire life alright, and i was cleared at an early age. i don’t think i’ve ever met someone with my condition in my life. sometimes i find it hard to catch my breath, or to do every day things and i don’t know whether it’s just me, or heart disease catching up. my family tells me it can’t be, because i was cleared, and there’s no reason for it to be a problem now, if it wasn’t before. i’m not sure that’s true, and i know CHD is a life long condition. does anyone else struggle with this even after being cleared?
