I was recently recommended to look consider ketamine infusions by a provider, so I have a few questions. Has anyone been able to get it covered by insurance? Have you been able to find someplace affordable to get it? What has your overall experience been with it?

insurance will not cover it. i haven’t ever heard of any insurance covering it. im a patient at a practice that sends a medical professional to your home and sets up the IV in your house/apartment, so you can be more comfortable, the care/treatment is much more accessible, and you get to experience the acute effects of the ketamine in a place you’re comfortable and familiar with; not a clinical, doctor’s office setting. it really made a huge difference for me when i switched to getting my infusions done at home. overall, ketamine is the ONLY medicine that helps my depression and C-PTSD. my body/brain is extremely resistant to traditional medications for depression & C-PTSD like SSRI, SNRI, antipsychotics, etc. Ketamine is what i credit for keeping me alive to this day, 100% for real. i hope you have just as good of an experience! PS i pay $275 for each at-home infusion compared to $400 for each infusion at the ketamine clinic.

@cloudnine Thank you! This is SO detailed and I appreciate it so much. Seriously. Can I ask how often you get it?
