Any advice on getting out of a depressive episode. I’m literally to the point where I don’t even properly take care of my self and don’t want to go to work because all I want to do is sleep. And it doesn’t help the fact that I hate my job

I read something online that really helped me- you don’t have to do things the way society tells you to. Need to take a shower but feel too tired? Sit in the shower. Need to do laundry? Sit on the floor, do two pieces, and come back for the rest later. Baby steps that will still help you feel accomplished.
I know this may not be helpful, but the only thing that helped me get out of my 1 1/2 years episode was to go get help at an outpatient center. I truly believe it’s saving my life, and every day I learn new skills and I’m able to cope with What I’m feeling in a way I wasn’t able to before. I wish the best for you.

Being patient and loving to yourself is the primary thing you need. Set a goal for yourself to start slowly coming out of it. Have a bowl of cereal and shower one day, the next day do a couple dishes and clean a small space in your home, then slowly increase your activity. But remember that if you are just too tired, or just too worried, forgive yourself and start again the next day. Take it slow, and be kind to yourself.
