Does birth control really get better after 3 months? I’m having horrible cramps and clotting on my first “off week” on my first ever hormonal birth control. I’ve been having periods for over a decade and it’s never been this bad. Will it really get better in a few months? I started because my periods were so irregular and would last 7-21 days of bleeding. But I feel like this is even worse 😭

Ive heard that usually it does clear up after a while but I haven't experienced that, although maybe look into not having an off week (if that's an option for you) because for me, it stopped my period completely and that was amazing for me. I think doctors can prescribe pills for all 4 weeks with no placebo but I'm not 100% sure. I use the ring which normally you leave in for 3 weeks and take out for one but I just leave it in for 4 weeks so it stops my period (my doctor told me I could do that) so maybe if it doesn't clear up you might be able to look into that? I hope that's helpful.
