Frustration with Fibromyalgia Management

I’ve gotten kind of used to being told that X specialist can’t do anything for my fibromyalgia more than my PCP already is. It will never stop feeling…I don’t know, funny? Ludicrous? Ridiculous? when they say that my PCP can probably keep my fibro “managed” because this thing is many things, but it is definitely not “managed.” 😬

      Did that include a pain specialist? I was passed off between many types of specialists but a pain specialist was actually able to help me. My pcp was helpful with my fibro, but pain specialists have a lot more options for what you can try! Good luck!!

      Upon fibromyalgia diagnosis recently, I was immediately told, "But there's no treatment for that." You didn't even try! It's 2023 y'all, this is so absurd. I'm sorry you're asking for help and not getting it.

      It’s really hard and I feel you. Part of fibromyalgia is self-management. I take hot baths to manage pain and do stretches. I also have a powerful medication (Divalproex). I suggest the hot baths and exercise and asking your PCP about changing medications. Also, find out if physical therapy is an option.

        @Zoroaster hot 🔥 baths sre my only way of managing it most days i try not to use 800mg ibuprofen unless im leaving the house for errands because i don't want liver issues.
