Does anyone struggle with feeling misunderstood or not understood at all? I know my spouse loves me but I don't feel like he gets it sometimes. He doesn't truly know what it's like to live with these issues every single day and right now I'm still seeking diagnosis so I don't feel like he even believes I have this illness. I feel so much frustration.

It stinks but I don’t think you can really understand it unless you’re experiencing it. But that’s what we are all here for! When your spouse doesn’t get something feel free to bring it here and we will help or listen :) in terms of him not believing it, sadly very few people will believe someone with an invisible illness. We have to work twice as hard to be heard. Hopefully once you have a formal diagnosis that will help, but for now I’d emphasize to them that their support means a lot to you and you would appreciate it if they stood with you instead of questing things. My partner used to question each new thing wrong with me thinking he was being helpful, but I explained to him that sometimes I just need some unconditional support! I hope something I said helps! Please feel free to reach out to me any time :)

You are not alone, your feelings and emotions are valid and this is not all in your head. As much as that is easy to say, it doesnt change how you feel. Having an "invisible disease" is debilitating in itself. Nevermind the bs from people and being dismissed by doctor after dr can make you feel insane. "oh its just a heavy period." "Common it cant hurt that bad". Not only do we as women get dismissed, ignored, negated, neglected but we also have the task of keeping everyone around us together. I wish i could say one day your partner will understand, and i pray for you he will. But what ive learned through my own journey is NOBODY will care nor understand unless they themselves have been effected. And thats the problem, not you. You do not owe anyone an explanation, you do not need anyone to understand. You need to be your own advocate and believe in yourself my dear. Sending you all the love and support 💕💕
