Started taking respiradone for auditory hallucinations and extreme paranoia. My dr was originally interested in putting me on .25 mg of Haldol but I said NO based on my googling. Never a great idea but we landed on respiradone instead. What have your experiences been like with this med??

It worked wonders for me, as in I slept 16 hours a day. Can't hallucinate if your asleep lol

@Starfleet actually i think it’s one of the safer ones when it comes to weight gain,.. probably depends on the person’s lifestyle and genes in terms of how it effects you.. my psychiatrist told me Risperdal is a good one for me that I’d do well in according to the genetic advisory panel she had me do, i excersise and eat healthy,.. it also depends on how much youre on and if it makes you over eat.. my case,.. im underweight anyway, so I probably should be on something to help me gain weight,.. probably will slowly increase it and regulate stuff i think,.. and it doesn’t particularly effect my appetite so much anyways though,.. some people say it makes them super hungry all the time, but I personally do not find that

Personally my hallucinations were gone the second the med was fully in my system. But it made me so depressed I wasn’t getting out of bed most days so the pros didn’t outweigh the cons and I’m currently on rexulti :))

I have problems with auditory hallucinations, visual hallucinations, and paranoia. The drug has helped me to exercise, take care of my diabetes, and take care of myself in general. I like the drug a lot.

Can’t say I’m dealing with any eye issues as I don’t have that history or wear glasses but hope you find answers soon

I’m having extreme dry mouth!!! Good to know where it is coming from. Can I ask what other meds you’re taking that cause dry mouth? May also be on one.

A little bit over two years but we seem to up the dosage every year or so, yeah It takes some fidgeting but you don’t want to be zombied out, only when I’ve taken too much or too little have I seen noticeable side effects

How long have you been taking? I don’t even know if my dose is therapeutic yet b/c it’s so low

I’m on 2.5 mg twice a day and I’m still hearing auditory hallucinations but I don’t know if that’s just because I’ve been on the same dosage for so long or what
