My moms an addict and I’m scared I’m becoming like her I’ve never tried anything but weed but when i get sad I just crave anything that’ll take it away and I’m self aware and Ik that means I should probably get help because that’s not a normal thought process but I’m tired of fighting my mental Illness i didnt do this to myself but its up to me to fix and ive just been in a mood of this is who i am take it or leave it no matter how much self improvement i do ill never be fixed ill never be normal and I just don’t wanna be me anymore.

      @CaptainHolmes Also, I attend Al Anon meetings, which are for friends and family of addicts. These are available in person or on zoom as well. They have been very helpful for me and I'm starting to make a few friends.

      My husband is a recovering addict. He says that AA/NA meetings, and the support of friends in recovery, helps him the most. You can go to a meeting even if you're not sure if you're an addict or not. You can also do meetings in zoom from home. Some don't even ask you to turn your camera on if you want to be anonymous and just listen. ❤️

      Reach out to someone you feel comfortable talking to. Even if it's every day menial things. If I didn't have some to talk to, I'd probably be dead right now. Talking helps work through things even if you don't see it at first.
