Hi y’all. I have been having troubles sleeping. I have troubles falling asleep. Occasionally I’ll wake up in the middle of the night or super early (right now, it’s 5:15am…) I started working out and stopped taking my Trazodone at about the same time, and I’m not sure what’s causing the troubles. I workout before 2pm, so it’s not like it’s right before bed. I stopped taking Trazodone because I was sleeping excessively and was still exhausted the next day. My psychiatrist wants me to go back on Trazodone but half the dose I was taking. I really don’t want to go back on a sedative. I’ve been putting down my phone before bed and reading. I also don’t have caffeine after 1pm. Does anyone have any suggestions to help me fall asleep or any natural sleep aides that aren’t melatonin because that makes me feel worse the next day than Trazodone?

@FutureNurse I've had some success with CBD but I have to detox and restart a lot more than I do when there's THC involved or I build up a tolerance. My in law is an enthusiast of both and during a Christmas sale bought my partner and him a full pound each of CBD and has been experimenting, the bear ive noticed for sleep has been the CBD oil used for cooking edibles and decarbed CBD.

Cbd + melatonin gummies have helped me a lot! (I was on trazodone once too)

@Annikaz did you feel tired the next day after Trazodone? Do you feel any next day effects from CBD+melatonin? I’ve been highly considering trying CBD gummies!

@FutureNurse definitely felt tired waking up when I was taking trazodone. Cbd on the other hand has no effect on me in the mornings! I take a combined cbd and melatonin gummie and just a regular Cbd gummie cuz my anxiety won’t let me fall asleep in less than an hour

Try melatonin. Smaller doses for smaller sleep cycles, and two if you want that fat 8-9 hours.

@TiggerGizmo yes. I just started taking it almost a month ago. Why?

Something I've noticed has helped me is tapering off my phone usage an extra hour earlier and doing something physically or mentally intensive, for me it used to be homework and then a small amount of exercise but now that I'm more disabled it's more like cooking and a hobby like felting. I also use weed for my insomnia and that doesn't carry over to the next morning for me at all but if you want to avoid any kind of high obviously that's not the option

@AnimalBoy I have been tapering off my phone usually 30-45 minutes before trying to sleep. I read until I’m tired. Then I close my eyes and magically, I’m not tired anymore. Yeah I’m also trying to avoid weed although I’m interested in trying just CBD!
