I’ve been depressed for 2 years straight, on and off. It spiked a couple weeks ago and it combined with my adhd really took a toll on my bedroom. I will not lie. My room smells. It’s dirty. My entire wardrobe is on the ground. I have dishes hidden places. Trash under my bed and in my closet. It’s genuinely disgusting. My adhd makes me put things off until I physically can’t take it. If a task seems to hard my mind shuts it out and makes me do something else. I have laid in my bed for so long. Every day for hours. I spend more time in my bed than anything else. Its sad and sickening. I am not dirty, I do not have bad personal hygiene. But my bedroom is a different story. My family just bought a new house and we will be moving into it shortly so I hope it is different at my new room, I will have better storage and it will be bigger so maybe that will help because I am so sick of it. I can’t walk in my room and I don’t even know where the smell is coming from. This happens to my room every other week. I clean it and then it gets dirty immediately. If anybody has any tips on how to prevent this from happening that Would be great. Anything helps :)

I know exactly how it that feels. Years ago ,(like 4 years ago ) my rolm was so bad tbat i wasn't even sleeping in it and it didn't feel like i had a room. I felt like i didn't deserve a room to sleep in, like i deserved nice things. But i found out that i DO and you DO too. I'd say , def. Get your room cleaned up now instead of last minuet before you move. Get storage bins ,etc. And find a place for everything. --i found it helpful that any time i leave the room, take with me whatever doesn't need to be in there. I also found it helpful to schedule 15 minutes out of every day to clean my room. That way ,i dont get to overwhelmed and then i feel proud of myself for getting done what i got done . You got this, best of luck.

Be consciously aware of what trash is in your room when it's clean, and make sure to clean it up IMMEDIATELY! Don't put it off! Clean it up right away, put away clothes even when you're tired unless you're SURE you can do it in the morning, find organization tools if you can afford any, and keep a trash bin in your room- and take it out of course! hope at least some of this helps ^^ good luck!! I know the situation you're in, so wishing you the best of luck!!! You can do it!

@dandelion_flower Also, adding to this: try not to eat in your room as much as possible! breaking that habit will really help in the future!

A body double helps, im in the same boat If you’d like, you could video call with me while we both clean our rooms? It might be a little awkward, but I don’t judge
