How am I supposed to maintain a job?

@HeyReese I’m not familiar with your field but it sounds incredibly smart. I can’t be helpful with specific companies but I’ve found that a lot of job sites (I use LinkedIn mainly personally) have search filters to only show remote jobs. I only search with that filter on and it’s helped.

I’m with Meggo & Lew_Bear. I was a dedicated geoscientist and now I can’t do my job. I’ve worked through 3 pregnancies with extensive hikes and now I’m out of breath if I ride in the car too long or stand. Granted, I’ve had my symptoms for a long time, but they became significantly worse after my 20+ day bout with Covid 😑. If anyone knows where to find remote jobs or companies that are actually disability-friendly drop a commentn

You’re not alone in this struggle 💕 I was a civil engineer before I got sick, but the fatigue and brain fog have gotten so bad I’ve had to completely stop working. I’m just trying not to give up hope that I’ll find a treatment that will help enough to start working again.

I’m a physical therapist so I’m constantly up and down and doing physical activity. Before I came to work, I had a conversation with my boss about expectations and what my limits are. I take MANY seated rest breaks and ask for help from my coworkers when needed.

Find jobs that have similar activity levels with your typical lifestyle ON BAD DAYS. Food service is an example of what not to do. Work from home Customer service rep is a great one! If you can easily do it on bad days that’s the one you’re looking for! Plus if you have enough good days in a row you could be lining yourself up for a raise/promotion!

I am so sorry you guys are going through this. I am too. I work on planes and can no longer do the physical portions of my job, or go into the office. Even sitting for half a day causes my upper back, shoulders, and neck stiffen horribly and cause piercing headaches because my circulation isn’t happy.. then it gets hard to even focus let alone figure out complex system issues. I’m rendered useless. I’ll randomly have migraines and vertigo and have to call out. Can no longer conduct training because it triggers my heart rate to spike into the 140’s. I also haven’t figured out how to regulate my body temperature outside of my home… I’m in the battle of finding a new job before my current one lets me go for not completing anything. Personally, I’m trying to get a fully remote job so I can remain mostly inclined and be safe at home in case things get bad. I work in IT though and I know that’s not possible in all areas of work. I also know that POTS effects everyone differently (why I wanted to give a little backstory of what symptoms are hindering me) so it may be worse for others to manage. Best of luck 🙏

I came to this community with the same question. Haven’t found the answer yet
