I just posted something similar with a different condition tagged so sorry if you see it twice! I have Bertelotti’s and just found out I need a spinal fusion. Can anyone who has had a spine surgery share a bit about their experience? I’m really nervous. I know the pain will be bad for at least a few weeks but beyond that I don’t know much. Any advice and shared experiences would be greatly appreciated!

I love the idea of clipping some things out and hanging them up that’s so cute! Thank you so much for all of your help, I really appreciate it!

Have alot of friends that have had back surgery. I was told I had to have it because of 2 car accident. Major issues. The one thing that will help you is to do pool therapy because it strengthens your core. Your recovery time will be less.Building your immune system up before hand with vitd3 vitc, fish oil and multivitamins will help you not to get sick in the hospital. Stay positive and ask for help with meals and personal issues before your surgery date. No unessary stress . Set yourself up for love and support before hand. Best wishes. When is your surgery?

@FaithKay thank you so much, I love the idea of aqua therapy! I love swim exercise classes so that will be great for me. And the idea of setting myself up for success ahead of time! My surgery will be in mid-August, but I don’t know the exact date yet!

@Belugabear Well keep me updated. The other thing I would suggest is avoid inflammatory foods like sugar especially because it will help your body to heal faster. I'm healing right now from alot of things and my diet being very strict helps alot. It's worth the effort. You will do great. I put up affirming things on my walls that I clip out of papers books that remind me it's gonna be ok. I may draw something or write a quote or scripture to look at. Mental attitude and having your body prepared will help so much. You will do great.... I'm always here to listen. Feel free to pm me anytime.🤗. This is a good group of caring people on here.

I have had my entire back fused - 2 rods and 26 screws. I also got them removed 5 years later, so I have had 2 major back surgeries. You can message me privately if you have any specific questions 😊
