Im really terrified that I’ll relapse after my ketamine therapy. Im only two sessions in, the first session went great and I felt an improvement, but the second one left me very conflicted. I also am not having appointments as often as I’d like due to a busy schedule. Im really scared I’ll relapse because ketamine therapy is expensive and I can barely afford it, my depression is tearing my family apart. I feel like I know what I want in life thanks to the clarity that ketamine therapy has given me, just no clue how to achieve it

Why did the second one leave you conflicted? I think the ketamine therapy has opened a door for you to realize some things but you’ve been in a habit for so long that you don’t know how to achieve them and I think that’s okay. It is understandable to be scared of relapse and to be worried about your current inability to create your future with your newfound clarity. I think it’s important to know that this is new for you and our brains work off of learning and piecing things together to create action and right now, you’re in the learning phase. Do not think this is because you are a failure or something, because it’s really just a step in the process and with more clarity, you’ll have the information you’ll need to continue.

@bloopdot This response really means a lot to me, thank you so much! I felt conflicted because it opened up a lot of hard truths for me, and I didn’t feel that satisfaction that i felt after the first session. Thank you so much for what you said about ‘the learning phase’, it really helps to know that I’m not doing something ‘wrong’ per se :)

@tubrub you’re so welcome 🥺 I totally get you. Fighting mental illness is really a huge process and it takes years sadly but you’ll get there :) I promise.
