I've been off work long before this because I had cancer in 2020 and developed pots. My lungs still don't feel the same. They still have some inflammation and scarring on them. I still don't know the long term affects this will have on my lungs. But for now I'm off oxygen, even tho I still feel like I need it sometimes even tho my oxygen shows as normal. But from what the pulmonary Dr says, this is all normal after having covid. I recommend you see one to have your lungs checked out to see how they are doing. I had to go back on prednisone to help bring down more of the inflammation after I was home

This info is so helpful. I agree everyone is different. Once you are off did you have to sit frequently? Were you able to return to work then?

It's different for everyone. I was in the hospital 8 days on 10L to start then was on 3 when I left. By week 2 after being home I tested myself by lowering it more and more. I was told if my oxygen levels show I'm at at least 92% then I won't need the oxygen anymore. So once I got down to 1L then I started slowly taking it off while sitting and only using when moving around until I saw I didn't need it moving around anymore either. All in all about 4 weeks after I got home I was winged off completely. Tho my lungs still struggle a bit cause my chest just feels tight. I have inhalers for that or I just sit down and take a break to catch my breathe
