So I am not sure if the general population knows this but there is a difference between the words “asocial” and “anti-social”. I feel like people use the terms synonymously when they are actually 2 different things. Asocial behavior is someone who chooses not to engage socially, whereas antisocial behavior is typically given to someone who has a personality disorder (aka: ASPD). Also, sociopaths/psychopaths are also typically diagnosed with being anti-social. Just keep in mind which word you are using next time you want to say you are a loner. 😂. I learned about this when I was in highschool and it still bothers me when people use the wrong word. Ill put the links to websites to check out if you want to look more into it in the comments.

@Frapples i get it ! I thought the same way before I took my psychology class and learned in depth what the difference between the two are.

As someone who has been told by a professional that I have anti-social tendencies and behaviors, I appreciate the clarification. I hate when people mix those up. My brain is literally wired different. I see people the same as say, a pet really. But I’m still a sociable person. People are also more than welcome to ask questions. Just keep in mind I’m not diagnosed with the personality disorder. I just have similar thought patterns and tendencies.
