Feeling Ignored by My Mom

I feel that. In my case I think she just doesn’t know what to say. She does deal with mental health and she really doesn’t know what it’s like. But she’s bad at expressing herself fully on that. It’s been really hard when I got my dignosus because at first she didn’t believe it. And then it got to point wher I want to talk about it and I would never get any feedback like she wasn’t listening. Especially when I was dealing I felt like she should know cause we talked about it. But it was hard for her to even see the signs. Even when I thought they were clear as day. I hope that makes sense!

My mom does that sometimes too, mostly when I talk about things that are super vulnerable for me. Like she chooses to be unresponsive rather than respond in a way that might be hurtful, but her lack of response is hurtful. I’m sorry you’re experiencing this.
