Does anyone else with ADHD suffer from RDS(rejection sensitivity dysphoria)? I’ve been extremely sensitive to rejection my whole life, and have noticed it’s progressively gotten worse over the years, especially with my PTSD. I never knew until today that it had a name. What are things you do to cope with it? Is there anything that’s helped long term?

I do, I recently figured out what it was but I've had it my whole life to the point someone stared at me wrong and I thought they hated me that feeling could last for days. Its still pretty bad but Ive learned to cope with writing stories, crochet, rescued several stray cats, painting, writing my thoughts and feelings down, and just talking to someone/something a stuffed Animal even worked when I just needed someone to talk to. My friends and family are aware i need a lot of reassurance they are all really helpful.

I do! I write down my thoughts and change them. Ex: someone corrected me at work, I write what I initially think “they hate me and I’m horrible at my job” then I write “I am human and made a mistake, they helped me not make the same mistake again, they like me enough to help”. Also deep breathing and working with a therapist

yeah 100%, but i think a lot of it is also coming from splitting with my bpd. im always afraid of rejection and it affected everything, even the way i dress

I do! Not sure how to cope with it either, but I usually just ride the episode out and wait to see how I feel after before doing anything about the situation.
