Hi friends, I'm about to start Wellbutrin for my depression and adhd and I wanted to know how y'all have done with it given that it has the potential to worsen anxiety? I've tried vyvanse, Zoloft, and adderall and adderall worked great except made my depression way worse. Vyvanse made me nauseous 24/7 and Zoloft made me an emotionless zombie

      One more thing, I do have a secondary medication, and also Clonazepam for break through anxiety. The thing is, none of medications have made me zone out, and just have 1 mood. I still have a range of emotions, but they are appropriate for what is happening in life, and they do change. One thing about the sustained release Wellbutrin, is that you don't get the yo-yo affect. For me the name brand Wellbutrin is what I need. Generic bupropion just doesn't work as well. But that's just me. Same for my thyroid medicine. But yeah, never just discontinue any medication without speaking with your doctor. I hope this helped. God bless!šŸ™

      The best way I take Wellbutrin is the sustained release tablet (SR). I've been on it for years, and I'm so thankful!

        @NanN do you know if this is the same as XL tabs?

      Wellbutrin was the medication that has worked best for me. I hadn't had side effects on others I tried but did find that excessive sweating is a REAL thing with wellbutrin. The effectiveness more than makes up for a little sweat

      Iā€™m also on lexapro and buspirone for anxiety. could offset the side effects

      I've been on Wellbutrin (generic) for a couple of months now, and I think it's helping. I have the "unholy trinity" of ADHD, depression, and anxiety, although I'm starting to think the depression isn't actually depression.

        @CameronElizabeth literally same!!

        @CameronElizabeth ā€œthe ā€˜unholy trinityā€™ā€ šŸ’€ LMAOOOO! I have the same, with a little dash of OCD. Why do you think the depression isnā€™t depression?

      Currently on week 3 of Wellbutrin for the same reasons. Prior to starting I was experiencing the longest depressive episode Iā€™ve ever had. Since starting Iā€™m not suicidal anymore, so thatā€™s good! Iā€™ve noticed Iā€™m a bit more social. The work day seems shorter. A little easier going. Nothing profound! Just kind of lifting my baseline. But ending the suicidal thoughts was massive! I was joking about it, thinking about it while driving, thinking about how and why, why I couldnā€™t, why I could, etc. Now Iā€™m not in that headspace anymore. Now Iā€™m trying to undo the mess I made while I was super depressed šŸ’€

        @Baby_Cactus having to pick up the pieces from depressive episodes is the hardest thing I have had to do. It makes me come back to the head space that I was in when I just want to move forward

      I havenā€™t taken Wellbutrin but I know it has a lot of harsh effects for some. My roommate said it made her restless legs worse and she and others had digestive issues. I find adderall helps my depression and anxiety because it gives me energy. And sitting still is like the worse thing for me, but I do also take antidepressants for anxiety and insomnia

      I have PTSD-related anxiety and Wellbutrin has personally worked wonders for me without worsening the anxiety. It was originally prescribed for my ADHD, and I've been on the 300 mg dose for ~2 years. It made me feel like I was actually present in my body for the first time in my life. That being said, everyone is different. If it worsens your anxiety, you can always talk to your provider about tapering off and trying something else.

      Wellbutrin put me in a bad place. Watch your side effects and don't stop all at once.

      I've been on wellburtrin for about 3yrs now, I'm on it to help keep my moods little more stable & it actually works really well for me I'm on the highest dose 150mg

      So I just got put on wellbutrin for anxiety and depression. I might have ADHD but I'm undiagnosed so I can't say. I've been on lexapro and prozac and so far wellbutrin has done the most in the shortest amount of time. I've been really focused on work and almost have it all done everyday and I'm also less suicidal, and more neutral. Not exactly happy, but not exactly making plans, but still kinda don't wanna live. So I woukd say it stabilized me and thays about it for now, I'm on 150mg right now but will probably be pushed to 300 which is tje reccomended dose.
