I feel as long as you do adequate research and really feel it fits you then its okay. A diagnosis for anything can be hard to get, or just downright expensive. If it works for you then its perfectly fine

I’ve always been self conscious about ADHD because of the stigma about meds, maybe this is part of the trouble for you like it was for me. I always try to remind myself to just be honest. If you don’t want meds right now, I think that you could say that to your provider. If you bring up that you think you might have ADHD, you can say that you don’t even want meds you just want to know if you have it. Sorry I’m rambling so much but there shouldn’t be so much stigma about ADHD or mental health in general, so if you think you might have it then I think you should be evaluated if you want that. It was really nice for me to know for sure that I have ADHD because then I knew what was going on and why I am the way I am. Another thing, the first person I saw to see if I have ADHD said that I don’t have it (he didn’t take to me enough so I don’t know how he could rule it out lol), but I just wanted to say that it is definitely valid to see another person to get a second opinion, because the second person pretty easily diagnosed me with ADHD. Also, a good resource for diagnosing yourself is the DSM-5 for ADHD. That is the diagnostic manual, so that is a clearer way to figure it out than just looking up symptoms. You can look up the DSM-5 for ADHD online.

Self diagnosis is valid and ok. Don't get yourself down. If you feel like you ever want to explore medical intervention to help address your ADHD, then getting a diagnosis is necessary. Otherwise, don't fret
