I’m tyson I have a self inflicted gunshot wound that caused bilateral frontal lobe damage. I want to know if I can smoke weed when I get out of the hospital and the doctors are tiptoeing around the talking about”I don’t want to tell you or influence you putting chemicals into your brain but I’ve eaten 350mg edible since I’ve been in here and it only made my deficits lessen

@BrandonSay I mean it took me 5 months out of hospital to develop epilepsy I’m just staying away from sativas and sticking strictly to taking dabs

I still smoke myself after my TBI which lead me to a subdural hematoma, and I honestly think it helps a lot. In my case, however, I did start having seizures about 8 months after getting out of the hospital and now I just take it easy on how hard I take my hits so I don't cough up a lung. I otherwise would just recommend sticking to edibles and tinctures

I’m not 100% sure when it comes to TBI. My only warning is synthetic cannabis. There are a LOT of harmful effects. If someone is already predisposed to schizophrenia, synthetic cannabis will bring it out and that is not the worst thing. Seizures are also a harmful effect. So just FYI. I took a neuropsych class and learned a lot about drugs and how they affect the brain, mechanism of action, etc. cannabis is great and all and has the potential to do a lot of good. I’d just do some research and talk to a doc who will give you the pros and cons.

Dude, been smoking since 14. Got my tbi at 32 still smoking, have my medical card. Everything is cool. Now our’s are different and at different stages of healing. However it helps with my anxiety ( cut those meds back and I can leave the house again), it’s helped with my rage disorder due to my tbi ( also a huge help in public), and for the first time in ten years I don’t need sleeping meds. You can always get a second opinion. Some doctors see the benefits of cannabis and CBD which helps inflammation and calms nerves. There are many benefits not just scary “refer madness” ideas many medical professionals are meant to shove down our throat.

THC can exacerbate symptoms of brain trauma (memory, emotional control). Safety considerations like monitoring may be needed depending on the level of injury.

Well I mean it's fine for me (officially got high the "first" time last night) and nothing bad happened except for cotton mouth, which was not even that bad

The explanation they had was it could slow down or reverse any healing that’s occurred because I’ve had a miraculous recovery so far in a month & 3 days I’ve went from my left side being paralyzed to me walking and being able to grip things w my left hand

I have a frontal love traumatic brain injury that I got from crashing down a canyon, and ran into a tree on my side… right frontal lobe injury. And I smoke weed on the daily ^.^ I’ve never had a Dr ask me to stop. Never ever
