@IndigoBro If you’re ruminating, write down your thoughts. It helps stop you from having to think the same ones over and over out of subconscious fear your will forget to deal with important thoughts. Later when you’re in a different emotional state, see if reading your thoughts gives a different perspective and feel free to comment it. Now sometimes I open my journal to write down a thought and I have already had that thought and I already have written a solution for myself in the journal. You can have a conversation with yourself more effectively on paper.

Exhaust yourself during the day with longer period of exercise. Obviously hard to do this every day. But this is the most effective for me is true bodily exhaustion. Only use the bed for sleep and get up to go do something if u can’t sleep. Basically avoid the bed becoming a space for anxiety about insomnia. I get up to do dishes or clean house it helps me focus on something else and calm down. When I’m trying to wind down I drink tea. If you’ve been up for awhile, you might need another meal or snack, it can be hard to sleep hungry. Even when I’m broke I try to save a snack for before sleep. If nighttime sleep is hard, see if daytime naps can fit in your schedule. Our societal structure isn’t exactly how everyone is wired. I have a family member who solved their insomnia issue when they gave up daytime life for their night job.

Hi!Also a person who suffers from insomnia- Melatonin (you can buy that easily) Get sleeping medicine perscribed by a Psychiatrist I've found that music and asmr help aswell (i know plenty of good music to sleep to if you'd like it) Warm milk or tea Exercise can help you get to sleep easier for sure Sometimes it's more difficult to sleep if you haven't eaten so a little snack can help That's all I can think of right now but if I think of anymore I'll let you know!

I don't have tips but I hope you know that you are not alone. When I can't, I usually do art. Coloring or drawing to be specific. I like creating something I know can't be destroyed unless I say so.
